Smart Ass recent college grads that wanted intel and got it. There are some young assholes running around as Platoon Commanders. You can also be deployed and a Commander might not really know what to do with his CI/HUMINT folks so you wind up frustrated with that kind of bullshit. A 35L could be assigned to a unit where they don’T have an investigative mission and wind up doing some job that isn’t what they signed up for at MEPS. You might think you’re special but you cant escape things like CQ and Staff Duty NCO.

You will make a handful of lifelong friends On numerous occasions you would go to work in the morning thinking it would be a normal work day, quickly come home, grab my “go bag” and leave, returning anywhere from a few days later to several months later and when you did come back, you could not tell ours family where you had been and what you had been doing while you was away. The biggest negative aspect of the job was the unplanned/unexpected deployments without ours family. The best and simplest way to describe the job is that it is a mixture of law enforcement officer and detective focused entirely on foreign intelligence agents and Americans who have violated the espionage laws. (BTW, both are extremely selective, hiring well less than 1 percent of applicants.) If your specialty was counterintelligence, you could aim at the FBI, the leading federal law enforcement and domestic counterintelligence agency. If your specialty was HUMINT, you could aim at the CIA, the leading federal HUMINT agency. Suppose, for example, that after five years or so as an Army officer, you think about moving over to the civilian sector. To be sure, there is life after the Army. Most people would gravitate strongly toward one pole or the other, since they entail very different talents, outlooks and skillsets. Or would you prefer to keep an eye out for foreigners conducting espionage in this country or near a US base overseas, with a view toward arresting and prosecuting any you catch?.Would you prefer to collect information of intelligence value via espionage abroad and then analyze it and create finished intelligence products for your military customers?.Well, they are completely opposite specialties. r/army /r/navy /r/usmc /r/uscg /r/airforce r/nationalguard r/airnationalguard/ /r/britishmilitary /r/CanadianForces /r/AustralianMilitary /r/TheRoyalNavy /r/Bundeswehr More Related Subreddits If you have a general enquiry or would like to find out more, call 07 or email Subreddits
